On To The Grand Canyon IMAX Theatre. Our next stop is the Grand Canyon IMAX Theatre at Tusayan, Arizona located just outside the south entrance to the Grand Canyon. Guests may have time stroll the visitor center before experiencing a 35-minute film that takes you through the history of the Canyon and its prehistoric peoples. On a 60 foot tall screen, you get a "Condor's View" of the Grand Canyon's greatest sights. This is a great introduction to the Canyon before your up close and personal experience. Grand Canyon Village.![]() Grand Canyon Village We make the short drive to Grand Canyon Village which is the historic center of the Grand Canyon South Rim. The Grand Canyon attracts over 5 million visitors annually and the overwhelming majority visit the Village. Guests will have about 1.5 hours to stroll the Rim Trail, see the views from the Canyon's edge, tour the historic buildings, watch the mules enter the Bright Angel Trail, shop at Hopi House and see the incredible views from Lookout Studio. It's lunch time. Our complimentary gourmet snack items are ideal for a light lunch. For those that would prefer experiencing the sights while eating, we provide containers that you can stuff with complimentary items from our gourmet assortment and munch along the Rim Trail. The El Tovar Hotel's restaurant is open for those that want a sit down lunch which is not included in the tour fee. However, it is necessary that everyone arrive at the designated meeting place after 1.5 hours at the Village to continue the tour along Desert View Scenic Drive. The Scenic Desert View Drive. We begin the scenic Desert View Drive to Grand Canyon East and the most tranquil overlook at the South Rim where it is most serene without the large crowds. Along the way we stop at Mather Point which features side panoramic views across the Canyon. We also stop at Grand View Point for a brief look before heading to Desert View. Whereas Grand Canyon Village is very crowded, Desert View is serene and tranquil which many believe features the best views of the Canyon. Desert View is often referred to as "Grand Canyon East". Climb the Watch Tower which sits on the Canyon's edge and experience breathtaking panoramas of the Canyon and its Colorado River below. On a clear day, one can see the eastern beginning of the Grand Canyon near Marble Canyon. Historic Cameron Trading Post.We then leave Grand Canyon East and head to the Cameron Trading Post on the Navajo Reservation where we make a brief stop to visit the artisans shop to view a wide variety of authentic Indian made jewelry, pottery, art, sculptures, Kachina Dolls, ancient artifacts and other crafts. Head Back To Flagstaff. The tour returns to Flagstaff, again passing by the San Francisco Peaks back to your Flagstaff hotel. This completes the Silver Spur Loop Tour of the Grand Canyon South Rim from Flagstaff, Arizona
