Silver Spur Tours will pickup your group at the front door of your point of lodging in Flagstaff AZ and head north through the dense forests past the astounding views of San Francisco Peaks, the highest mountain range in Arizona at over 12,600 feet. Your first stop will be the Little Colorado River Gorge on the Navajo Indian Reservation. Then, just a short drive to the East Entrance to the Grand Canyon South Rim.
Prepare for a visual feast that will tantalize your senses. We stop at the Desert View Overlook and the famous Watchtower. Climb 70 feet to the top level and relish the incredible views of Comanche Point and the Colorado River far below. A picnic lunch is provided while you absorb once-in-a-lifetime views. The tour gets even better as we begin the scenic Desert View Drive with stops at Moran Point and Navajo Point.
Your tour of the Grand Canyon South Rim continues to Yavapai Point and Museum of Geology where you will discover some of the most spectacular views. Guests are encouraged to stroll along the Trail of Time for about 1.5 miles along the edges of the canyon to the Historic Center of the Grand Canyon. Your Silver Spur tour guide will drive guests that prefer to bypass walking the trail to the Tovar Hotel where they have free time to explore the Village at their own pace.
Your guide will suggest points of interest and amazing views. Visit Hopi House with architecture that brings ancient Native American culture alive. Lookout Studio sits right on the cliff’s edge. You will find other lookout points that will perk the adrenalin. Kolb Studio is nearby and will reward with even more great views. Watch the mules enter the Bright Angel Trail or stroll the Rim Trail. Have coffee and desert on the deck at the Tovar Hotel and relish the views from its outdoor patio.
Guests will rendezvous at a specific place to begin the return trip back to Flagstaff on a different route. We make a brief stop at the Double Eagle Trading Post along the way to Flagstaff.
