Unforgettable views will mesmerize the senses. Every scene is picture post card view that comes to life.
Your knowledgeable, friendly guide will narrate the entire experience. How the unique monoliths and buttes were formed, the ancient history of past Native American civilizations, and prehistoric times when the Sedona area was actually beneath the sea. Visits to the mystical and spiritual vortexes that are still considered sacred places by today’s Native American Indian Tribes. There will be plenty of time for magnificent photo-taking opportunities on this tour of Sedona. Its scenic views will amaze you as you picnic under shade trees next to flowing waters. The day trip to Sedona begins with pickup at your group’s point of lodging in Phoenix or Scottsdale in our customized Mercedes Benz Touring Van. See the forests of Saguaro cactus heading north for the 1.5 hour scenic drive to Sedona. Watch the dramatic landscape change as we descend from the canyons above Camp Verde. The first stop is Montezma Castle National Monument which harbors the ancient cliff dwellings where the Sinagua Indians once called home.
Next stop Sedona at Bell Rock for some quick photo opportunity and a scenic drive that includes views of red rock monoliths including famous Cathedral Rock. The tour stops at the Chapel of The Holy Cross. Get up close and personal with this astounding piece of architecture built high into the red rocks featuring incredible panoramic views.
We proceed a short distance up Oak Creek Canyon with a turnaround at historical Indian Gardens that was once the ancient agricultural grounds of the Sinagua Indians. Stretch your legs and take a few photos before heading back across the bridge to Uptown Sedona where you will have some free time for souvenir shopping.
Time to Red Rock State Park next to Oak Creek for a picnic lunch. The breathtaking views across the flowing Oak Creek to Cathedral Rock is the most photographed spot in Sedona. Dangle your feet in the creek as you enjoy your provided lunch within the quiet of tranquility. Next, we take a scenic drive through Seven Canyons followed by a drive up to Airport Mesa and its almost 360 degree views across Sedona from multiple angles.
Next stop is famous Tlaquepaque, a fashioned after a traditional Old Mexico Village next to Oak Creek under the shade of Sycamore trees. Shop the galleries and unique one of kind shops along cobblestone walkways, archways, fountains, and colorful gardens. It’s free time. Enjoy a snack and an iced tea on outside patios. Often there are artists, dancers and musicians performing for your enjoyment.
It’s time for the return trip back to Phoenix or Scottsdale that completes your tour of Sedona.
